Welcome to the fourth edition of Newsbox, our newsletter that keeps you up to date with the fast pace of change at Logicalis and across the industry. In this issue we are focussing on one of the greatest challenges for modern organisations - that of the rapid evolution of the Data Centre.

Environmental concerns, along with growing legislation and new competitive pressures, are just some of the factors that are focusing attention on the rapidly growing costs of operating these complex facilities.

We look particularly at the growing crisis in capacity, and the energy consumption involved in powering and cooling devices, and how to focus on efficiency and rapid evolution of facilities, that are increasingly required to deliver on the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) needs of leading organisations.

We also examine how information lifecycle management (ILM) can pay a hugely important role in increasing the efficiency of the Data Centre - ensuring organisations can respond adequately to changing regulations, without having to undergo internal restructuring in response. This leaves them freer to focus on their core business activities, such as searching for and exploiting new markets, and pursuing mergers and acquisitions.

The pivotal role the new Data Centre plays in ensuring the successful integration into organisations of new cultural and business imperatives, such as converged communications and Web 2.0, provides our third topic for discussion.

Lastly, as Logicalis develops to constantly improve its service to customers, we highlight our latest acquisition of system integrator CSF; some of the interesting research we've been conducting as part of our commitment to green ICT, and our appointment by Iconium as the UK's first Governance, Risk and Compliance policy enforcement partner.
